HFR EVENTS
The Prelude
HFR kicks off NYFW with a tribute to influential names in major industries such as music, film, and sports that have had a lasting impact on fashion and culture. The night commences by honoring the influence that people of color have had on fashion and style through live performances, interactive displays and more. Past honorees include Dapper Dan, Misa Hylton, and Ruth Carter.
Black History Month: Fashion Summit
This event features several notable fashion speakers, including: stylists, designers, editors, buyers, and creative directors. Our Fashion Summit's goal is to inspire the Black and Latinx community and inform them of opportunities available in fashion. Past speakers include Lindsay Peoples Wagner, Aurora James, and Tom Ford.
Designer Retreat
The HFR Designer Retreat is a 3-day retreat that hosts 75+ designers and features several notable fashion speakers. On the evening of Day 2, we host the Masters of Fashion Mixer, an event where our designers have the opportunity to mingle with some of the most established figures in the fashion industry. Past speakers include Prabal Gurung, Donna Karan, and Ralph Lauren.
NYFW Fashion Show & Style Awards
This night is filled with excellence as we honor 4 legendary figures in fashion and present the collections of 4 Black and Latinx designers. The attendees for this event include the who's who of fashion bloggers, celebrities, influencers, and an array of press and media outlets. Past attendees and honorees include Anna Wintour, Christopher John Rogers, and Freddie Leiba.
Designer Tech Summit
The HFR Designer Tech Summit is a 2-day experience that features panels, talks, recruiting sessions, and special projects for Black and Latinx designers. The goal of this event is to provide Black and Latinx designers with the tech tools and information they need to thrive in the fashion and retail industry. This event is attended by 75 - 100 select fashion designers. Past speakers include Tommy Hilfiger, Sonia Syngal, and Omar Nobil.
